Several critical consumer reviews on blogs, communities and forums are quickly triggering an avalanche that can hardly be stopped. At the beginning of 2010, vibrio had the opportunity and need to test the new and much-heralded consumer power on the web – not at the pleasure of stirring up trouble but because we were not able to solve our problem otherwise.

SYSTEMS, the grande dame of German IT fairs, went into "retirement" in 2008. Its successor, titled "discuss & discover", may have done a lot of things differently, but they did continue and further develop the tried- and-proven vibrio bloggerlounge.

In May 2007, tweakfest, a three-day festi- val for media culture and digital lifestyle, took place at Zurich's Turbinenplatz. One of the highlights was the opening speech by Steve "WoZ" Wozniak, co-founder of Apple Computer and one of the greatest iconic figures of the information age.   Viral Marketing – Chocolat Frey Brings a Unicorn to Life

The trademark of Swiss traditional choco- late manufacturer Chocolat Frey has al- ways been a unicorn – a mythical creature which caused a sensation in summer 2007 as the focal point of an unparallelled Web 2.0 campaign by the vibrio Zurich office and under the management of the Publi- cis advertising agency. The students Anne and Joern, in real life actors, travelled to the Swiss Alps to spend a few romantic days in unspoiled nature. In Val Cama they filmed a unicorn, and the viral mar- keting adventure took its course.

Who is Citrix? IT experts aren't the ones asking this question. But for many deci- sion-makers at management level, the worldwide leading provider of application server software was an unknown quantity. "Lederhose meets laptop" became reality in the forest pub in Grosshesselohe near Munich. For more than six weeks, Entera- sys Networks, a leading manufacturer of network solutions, offered beergarden visitors the opportunity to use wireless LAN access while sitting under the shade of chestnut trees. This action gave them a name within consumer media.
